It is plenty humid and near the water. I don’t understand the lack of screens (or air conditioning) though in an area with so many mosquitoes. We had to sleep under mosquito nets.

We went to New Orleans in June/July because DD had a group activity there. Fun city to explore, but 6 days was a lot and it was more expensive than I wanted it to be. Also hot as hell. But a fun city to just hang out in.

Ocean City In August. We always go, and yes it's Ocean City tacky but it's our place. Had our usual fun.

This was our off year with lower key vacations. But I feel like a loser compared to everyone else!

That sounds like an amazing trip. How long were the flights? And was the snorkeling great or are the reports about the deterioration of the reef accurate?

We went to Jackson, Grand Tetons, and Yellowstone and had a great trip. Jenny Lake Lodge in the Tetons was incredible.

Highly recommend staying inside Yellowstone (we stayed at the Lake Hotel) and getting up very early to see the animals and visit the major attractions (Old Faithful, Grand Canyon, Upper and Lower Falls, Geyser basins, Mud pots, etc). We did that 2 mornings--up at 5am and on the park roads at 5:30 until right after lunch. You can see so many animals at that time of the morning just from the car, and very few other people are out so you have the major attractions mostly to yourself, though you need to dress warm. Went back to the hotel right after lunch and napped. Later in the afternoon we either hiked a specific trail or did some more driving through some of the more remote areas. By then all the attractions we had to ourselves in the early morning were mobbed with people, and cars were backed up to the main road just waiting for a parking space.

Two weeks. That was a perfect amount of time for us.

Croatia, Slovenia with a day trip to Bosnia. All on a road trip, highly recommend

Sharks in Cape Cod....

We live in Boston and usually go to the cape for a week in the summer.

Sharks are definitely a real thing there. Example, we were fishing on a boat out of Falmouth. 3 people (out of 16 fishing) caught a shark!! Granted, not a great white and not huge (largest was 3 feet) but all scary looking things with sharp teeth!!!
