I love her but she's not moderate
The most lefty aspects of her agenda won’t make it through the legislative process. It’s safe to vote for her. She will bring an appropriate degree of course correction to the extremely unfair economic policies of the GOP.

OP agree and that's my fear. It's obvious Biden has lost a step. We need to coalesce around an alternative to make sure a progressive doesn't end up with the nom = trump certain victory
Your fear is insane. Do you know how many people actually like progressive policies? Do you know that not everyone fears progress? That perhaps after four years of same old same old GOP politics, perhaps the change they want is something non-criminal and substantive? If you really care about defetaingbthe criminal GOP, get involved. Stacey Abrams’s new Fair Fight or any of the other groups fighting vote suppression. Registering voters. Working for whoever the eventual nominee is.
lol the progressive viewpoint isn't even a majority in our party and if you include independents it's a total landslide. Get off twitter and this site. A majority of Ds aren't progressive
Agree. And what is it with the snide remark about people "fearing progress"? Get out of your arrogant bubble and you'd see that most people do not see far-left policies as "progress." They see them as weakening,or even destroying, the country.
Eh. Every time I ask what policies people think “progressive” means, I get regurgitated Fox talking points. So if you’re going to use GOP framing, I’m going to say you’re not arguing in good faith.
Hit submit too fast. Take Warren for example. She’s polling second behind Biden and given that Biden has more name recognition than anyone else in this primary, coalesce around her. If you’re going to call her “too liberal,” cite why - using only quotes from her website.
DP: I like Warren a lot. But some of her cornerstone ideas are not popular. Most specifically, Medicare for All. https://www.kff.org/slideshow/public-opinion-on-single-payer-national-health-plans-and-expanding-access-to-medicare-coverage/
Warren is popular with white liberals. She is less popular with the rest of the electorate. It worries me, when we have a hard election coming up!
Yes, she is trailing Biden with AA voters, but “There has been some anecdotal evidence that Warren can forge a connection with black voters, especially women, when she gets to address diverse crowds in person. But that has yet to translate into concrete results in the polls.” https://www.google.com/amp/s/thehill.com/homenews/campaign/456862-the-memo-warren-emerges-as-bidens-most-dangerous-rival%3famp She’s trailing but I don’t sense the same hostility that the AA community has toward Buttigieg, for example.
No that's true. I don't think she has no shot with AA voters. But my inclination is to support whichever candidate AA voters, white suburban women, and independents seem to like the most. Right now that seems to be Biden - so I am taking with a grain of salt all these calls fro Biden (the front runner) to drop out, and the people claiming he is too old or clumsy or whatever to be elected.
But look - I will vote for my coffee pot if that is the nominee. (To be fair I love coffee.) I don't see myself as needing to love the nominee. I just need them to beat Trump.
You’re talking to a white suburban SAHM, one who is simultaneously accused of being moderate by progressives and progressive by moderates.I’ve been a Warren booster since forever, so grain of salt me if you like, but it really feels like things are coalescing around her. She’s knowledgeable, educated, personable, prepared, open minded and has put in the work. Frankly there’s really not much immoderate to any of her positions, and if elected she strikes me as the kind of person who would actually take input.
But I too will vote for a coffee pot if that’s the Democratic nominee. Voting for the GOP is just voting for crime and corruption.

no, Biden is not fine. I've explained why he would be a poor choice, but it gets deleted. Apparently, the "moderator" does not allow a critical observation about the Dems' fronrunner. He has made numerous racist comments, and sided with segregationalists in opposing busing. You don't think that will come out during the campaign? How is it helping for the moderator to disallow any criticism?
The more the moderator censors, the more I know how panicked he is that the Dems will loSe again.
Because you sound like a social media influencer, hitting all the current anti-Biden talking points. A poster who is on the payroll of some group or country (cough!RUSSIA!coughcough) trying to take down the only Democrat with a realistic chance of beating Trump.
OMG. Do you hear your paranoid self? Still harping about Russia, are we? Speaking of talking points... you really need to join the rest of the country, out here in the real world.

You mean with Obama and DOJ's assistance.
No, because I remember what really happened and I don’t need right wing media to lie to me about it.

AA voters tend to coalesce later than white liberal voters. They didn't coalesce behind Obama until after the Iowa caucus last time around. While Biden leads the field right now, his numbers are weak. If you apply historical trends to his current numbers, he's more likely than not to lose the nomination.
