Those who think they are independent contractors. How cute the company has you thinking that as you are pushing family/friends furhter and further away.
My DH does graphic design and is an idependent cotractor. You know what he doesn't do? Try to sell graphic design to all of our friends and family.
He also sets his own price points, marketing techniques/tools and works for a variey of companies needing his specific skillset.
What skills do you have selling lotions?

It's everywhere. I'm mostly just sad that these R&F ladies are taking it as a sign that they have control, versus being screwed.

Jamberry shut down awhile ago. Wildtree (spices & cooking stuff) is going out of business now.

Everyone I know who did LulaRoe had to liquidate at quite a loss.
I'm a thrift store hobbyist, for lack of a better term and LulaRoe is in all the local stores I visit. So is Cabi. LulaRoe is aggressively ugly and cheap looking. How was this ever a trend? The shirts I see look like pajama tops for plus sized women.
The thrifts are loaded down with new Lularoe with the tags on.

My question has always been...why the secrecy over how much people earn? Why oh why? If you're a momboss and going to retire your DH early, why not use the potential salary as a recruiting tool? If I was going to earn enough to really supplement my income, then I'd seriously consider selling...but...they don't tell you because it's all smoke and mirrors...
It turns out that Rodan + Fields, like all other major direct sales companies, publishes its own annual income disclosure statement that breaks down the average earnings (retail profit and sales commissions) for participants in its sales program. Here's what Rodan + Fields self-reported for 2016 (clarifications and caveats below):
60.04 percent of all sales consultants earned $334 on average in 2016
30.37 percent earned an average of $2,304
5.73 percent earned an average of $6,912
Only 1.13 percent of all sales consultants earned more than $25,000
Only 0.28 percent made more than $100,000
On the face of it, those are pretty modest earnings. More than 90 percent of Rodan + Fields sales consultants took home, on average, $2,304 or less (much less in most cases). But when you read the fine print, it's clear that those numbers should actually be even lower.
In 2016, the company says it had 286,709 enrolled consultants, but that only 161,361 (56 percent) were "paid consultants" who made a profit from sales to other people during at least one month in 2016. The other 44 percent didn't sell a single product, but only signed up as a consultant to get a discount on products they bought for themselves.
The Rodan + Fields earnings numbers above are only for the 161,361 paid consultants. If you included the $0 earnings of the other 44 percent of consultants who never sold anything, those income averages would go way, way down.

I do because my DH is one (Not for an MLM obviously).
You like to spout talking points they are telling you at your super special 'retreats' and that is fine.
Keep on thinking you are a big shot 'business owner', i mean 'independent contractor'.
Do you set your own rates? Do you bid out for service? Can you modify your product/service to better meet your customer needs?
