I just saw Season 4, episode 3. It’s kind of amazing.

I just wrapped up S3 of The Boys. Ashley?!! And the hair pulling/wig? OMG.

I read somewhere that MM has super powers (maybe it's in the comics). That he was the first natural superhero, that he got the powers through his mother's milk (hence the NN?)

I miss Elisabeth Shue - she was awesome in the series. What a fantastic show.

Yalllllll I just finished season 3 and is it wrong I’m fukn loving homelander that man has mommy issues but he’s such a bada$$ I love the unpredictability, his strength, his warped sense of family, his humor. What an amazing show and Homelander for President at this point! Can’t wait for season 4.

Now did Maeve cause any damage with that ear stab? I wanted more soldier boy Homelander scenes.

The literal best 5 mins of the whole season. You should watch it.

I did and I don't get it. Where was Butcher? It looked like heaven. I thought his wife and kid died in childbirth?

Nope - that was sort of the whole point behind it. You may want to check it out again.

+1

PP did you watch the entire season?

Maybe the narrative jumped over your head a bit but Butcher spent the entire season fighting for revenge for his murdered lover/wife after Homeland raped her.

Then in the last 5 minutes he finds out that not only is she alive but she had a CHILD. Not his child though.

So she lied to him and her family and just disappeared for 8 years, so they assumed she was dead and his entire reason for being was basically...wrong.

Not to mention this means Homelander won. Because everything Butcher assumed about him was wrong.

I mean he still raped her...

Did he? All we know is that she was in a room with him and was upset after. It could have been consensual. Butcher was told it was rape so that he would be against Homelander. I mean homelander is an egotistic maniac so rape is likely. But I do not think it is 100 percent for sure.

I imagine it was the sort of situation where he was in a sort of paralysis from the shock of the situation. We saw him fight alongside Starlight in the warehouse outside of the water.

I don’t think Homelander raped her, I think that’s how Butcher perceived it. I may be wrong of course.

Out of the main ones that we know of, it sounds like Homelander was the only institutionalized one.

We haven’t really seen many female superheroes. Honestly most of the men aren’t “evil” either. Only Homelander has a psychotic killing streak.

I haven’t seen the show but some posters have mentioned rape by the male superheroes. I would consider that evil.

Maybe you should watch the show before commenting condescendingly.

There was 1 instance when a single male superhero forcibly coerced a female superhero into performing fellatio on him by using his position of power. That one superhero is who I mentioned as being evil, along with Homelander (who you won’t know because you haven’t watched).

ANYWAY - I don’t think the stretch superhero is evil because he is a hypocrite closet homosexual. I don’t think Translucent is EVIL because he’s a pervert, and A Train was instructed by Homelander - terrible deed, and a murderer but I don’t consider him evil.

I think evil is being confused with being bad people/assholes/etc.

Out of genuine curiosity - how did you all feel about Deep being raped in Ohio?

I think he deserved it. I couldn't tell if the girl did it intentionally as payback for his assaults, or if she genuinely got off on it.

I'm wondering if the show will either us it as a turning point for him to improve- he sees the error of his ways and changes for the good- or if it's the start of a downward spiral.

Can someone explain to me why he couldn't push her off? Is he weak out of the water? Does he even have super strength? I don't understand how that happened.

I think he froze from fear. Something that happens to some rape victims in real life.

Point of confusion

Was Homelander the only one of the seven that was raised in an institution?

A train seemed to have been raised in a single parent home with his brother. Starlight also was raised in a single parent home. And we don’t get much backstory from the others.

Just started watching it and it's SO GOOD! Very graphic and I'm watching it when the kids are not around.

It’s Amazon’s most popular show. I hope that means we get a 22-episode season 2.

Okay, 12...but no lower!

Thought the Derry Girls got cancelled for lack of viewers.

Season 2 was just released. We watched all six episodes yesterday.

So I have watched almost the whole season and I like the show but every time The Deep is on all I can think of is Nate Archibald wearing a aqua man costume.
