NP. You were going 58 in a 30? In a residential area? And you seriously don’t think you should get a recklessness driving charge? Honestly, I hope they give you jail time.
btw, I am a single mom so I hope you find someone else to hope these horrible things on

And it’s working.

Nope OP. You not only speeded irresponsibly but you failed big time to do what is ultimately best for your child. That is the biggest fail as a mom there is.
Save the dramatics
People speed get over it

Do hire an attorney, this will be quite intimidating in the court, also, check your mannerism and try sounding apologetic.
I also got a reckless driving ticket in Virginia. I went to court, pled guilty, and the judge knocked the charge down to simple speeding and fined me $150. That left me with 950 bucks to spend on hookers and blow instead of an attorney, and the time to do so instead of taking a safe driving course.![]()

yeah it was bad day honestly did not even notice I was driving behind others
I get it, rushing, single mom, but be safer in the future, you are the only parent you kids have! You have to take care of yourself(meaning no jail time for speeding) so that you can take care of them. At least it was in person, I hate the socialist speed cameras.
If you or a loved one ever got hit by a car that was speeding in your neighborhood you would love these cameras. I would love one in my neighborhood where people speed all the time.
I wonder how OP and you would feel if a car was going 60 in your neighborhood while you were out walking with your kids. Probably p.o.'d at the driver, right?
What? Are you nuts? I am not ok with people speeding like that, nor people biking recklessly, nor people jay walking... Just because I said, don't do it again and be careful doesn't mean I am all for people speeding! She made a mistake, she is paying for it, isn't that how the legal system works?
But you hate speed cameras that would probably force speeders like OP to slow down in residential areas? Why would that be? I'm all for speed cameras in residential areas where I know people speed all the time. I don't mean 5 miles above the speed limit, but more like what OP was doing.
I feel that speed camera are illegal and ineffective.
