Someone on the first page mentioned Eight is Enough. I loved that show but was thinking it was more of a '70s show. I went so far as to look it up, and it ended in 1981, so it fits here. I remember reading an obit about the guy whose book it was based on and was surprised to see he lived much of his adult life in the DC area, possibly Bethesda.
