Yeah, read this: build more protected bike/scooter lanes. A whole network of them. Then scooter and bike riders have a safe place to move. That also means fewer cars on the road. Win/win!

The Cheh bill would allow them to go faster on the road than they are allowed now.
If they go 15MPH on the road, they should be fine in quiet DC side streets.
And of course a third place for them to ride is in bike lanes, which there should be more of.
