You could totally steal the show with that big ole dress and plenty of space for catnip.

I've got a tickler on my calender to ask OP for an update the end of October!

Here's another thing:

cat I had for 20 years twice attacked me: once she thought a stuffed wolf cub I bought for my DS was real, another time she saw a neighbor's cat through the screen door and I was in the way.

both times I ended up with deep scratches (puncture type) that required antibiotics.

this could actually be dangerous

My cat was just shouting at me for attention so I told her she should just be grateful that she has never been forced to be in a wedding.

I'm the OP who took an enraged cat to the vet and now have deep scratches on my arm.

I am sitting here giggling about what the wedding will sound like. My cat screams and hisses at the vet, and I'm imagining how that will sound with so many cats.

There will be several people who lose their grip on the cat the are holding when it starts to squirm and scratch. So there will be multiple loose cats running around as well.

It will be fabulous! I so wish I knew you, OP, and could see video footage after it happens.

She doesn't want me to alter the dress in case her sister comes to her senses. Her sister is 7 inches taller than me and weighs over 100 lbs more than I do. When I told her this, she responded that the last time she saw me 2 years ago I was pretty heavy and it would just need to be safety pinned at the bottom for the height. Well I was 8 months pregnant with twins when she last saw me and even then I didn't weigh as much as her sister. I guess it really doesn't matter because you know the cats are actually the wedding party, I am just a human carrier.

This isn't the strangest part though. She is expecting everyone in the wedding party and as many guests as possible to adopt or foster a cat. She wants this to be a life saving event. She is very upset that many people are declining this request. She said that she is being firm that at least the wedding party needs to take their cat home. I'm guessing this is why her sister is saying no. I'm OK carrying a cat while wearing a giant mu mu dress but I'm not taking a cat home. I said no to the cat adoption and she told me that she may need to replace me with a more supportive relative.

You can't make this crap up.

I appreciate what she is trying to do. But, she's gone to far and the message is getting bungled along with her logistics. Someone needs to have a heart-to-heart. I think she can accomplish SOME of what she wants in a more palatable way.

+1. No way are cats going to allow it.
Maybe the bridesmaids can carry bouquets made up of photos or something symbolic of cats that are up for adoption, and they can be put on display with their stories later or something like that. I'm totally reaching here, but there's no way a bunch of cats are going to put up with this song and dance dress up charade. Huh. That's a statement I never thought I'd write.

I made it all the way to hear before I busted out laughing in my office.

OP, my DH's eye would be swollen shut in no time at this wedding. No amount of claritin could save him from this!

I love cats but of the 3 I've owned (pre-DH) only 1 would have been ok with this. He was dumb as rocks and would have been totally fine in a dress walking down the aisle. The other two were way smarter and would have scratched the sh*t out of anyone even coming close to them with a costume. If you did get it on they would be yowling and hissing and SO MAD it would not be festive.

OP, I had to take my own cat to the vet yesterday. She hates being put in her carrier or leaving her house, so by the time we got to the office, she was enraged. The whole debacle ended with deep scratches on my forearm.

This is going to be you.
