"The scope of the U.S. investigation emerged at a court hearing in Bermuda on Feb. 20. A Bermudian lawyer, Jan Woloniecki, spoke on behalf of the Justice Department. He said prosecutors were investigating “a major and very large tax fraud on the United States” that could “set a record” because prosecutors believe $1.5 billion of revenue was concealed fraudulently from the U.S. government."

Robert Smith is also one of the major (and founding) donors to the National Museum of African American History and Culture.

HBCUs have a different mission from traditional 4 year schools. Suffice it to say, cracking the Top 50 of USNWR is not the goal. It’s to catch and holistically prepare African American scholars for the professional world. Graduates of HBCUs are some of the most successful AAs in the country. From Oprah, to MLK, to several successful small business owners in our region. My hope is that this never changes.
