So, OP you are 51 and a single mom with a 5 year old? And overweight? It sounds like you dad has more common sense than you do. You will be 64 when you kid finishes HS. I say you better take care of your health. Your kid only has you and you seem to have the time to ocd about the scale. This happens to older parents, we have all seen it. Their perspective on life and what matters is geared towards themselves and perceived offenses. Maybe your dad is just fed up with your weird life choices.

This fellow seems like he has a good handle on his lifestyle and his health. If you're 51, he's minimum 71 and maybe 81+, right? Hes an old man. Let him live his life, take his stuff, and thank him. And do what you want. Ya know he wont be around forever.
