I don’t want to touch my principal. Plus I can make lots of money easily. Also my profession is getting easier as I get older. I will quit when I simply get sick of people.

Female 56. Looks like until 65. I have a 14 year old, so I will need to have health insurance for him until he’s independent.

41 year old female, single mother. I will work until at least 67, when I can collect full social security.

62 YO male, retired at 60 and never looked back.
We (partner & I) spend the summers in Upstate NY and the winters in SW Florida.
I do what I want, when I want and I’m never bored.
Retirement is not overrated.

45 year old female. Technically I can retire at 58, but my sons will still be in high school and depending on our financial situation then maybe realistically retire by my early 60s.

You do tend to get a lot of "but what are you going to do?" I remember when my mom retired and people were astounded that she didn't have a plan. No plan to work PT, no plan to travel the world, no plan to volunteer. She just wanted to, after working 43 years, do NOTHING. Or figure it out as it came.

I'm 52 and plan to retire at 62. AND DO NOTHING.

67 year old single mom of a 20 year old college sophomore. We both have who disabilities Have to work full time until 70, then probably part time at something for a few more years to keep my daughter insured until 26. Have one consulting skill in high demand so can probably do that in limited way.

50 Male, last kid graduates college in 15 years - so looking at 65.

I'm wondering if those of you who say you want to work as long as you can are extroverts?

I’m 44 and it is way too soon to tell. I don’t think we will be able to retire young but I also don’t expect to have to work until 70.

Those of you who are critical of others who have retired, "too early, too young", I question why *you* are so certain it was a bad idea. I'm guessing these people have a different personality than you, and wouldn't want your life either.
