She can't live in El Paso. KTEP (NPR) broadcasts from the middle of El Paso with a very strong signal.
Op here. Because you have used every radio in El Paso and lived in every house? Give me a break. NPR works in my car but it doesn't work on our home radio. I could try to buy another radio but really it's besides the point.
It's a 100,000 watt station. It broadcasts not just all over West Texas but northern Mexico as well. There are only 6 radio stations in the US with more powerful transmitters.
Um 2hrs outside DC I cannot get NPR and I know for a fact there is a WVA station because I can get it in my car. I have a vacation home with no internet and have tried getting it.
Don't be ignorant.

I read more books. I took my dog on nice long walks. I learned how to cook things. I wasted so much less time. Why don’t you get a smartphone? That would be helpful. But you don’t NEED WiFi, no matter how much you think you do. There are so many other fun and constructive ways to pass the time.
Well bravo for you!!! We also admire your ability to COMPLETELY MISS THE REAL PROBLEM HERE.
Op here. Lol. She obviously did not have young children. I am bored to death without internet and tv.
