Mantua?

In Vienna, there are some jews, but not a lot. In fact, as my DD was growing it, it was difficult because at our shul, most of the kids were from N Arlington and Falls Church. So, DD never made friends from temple. (We did have just enough for a car pool).

But there are clearly some areas with almost no Jews, eg the Route 1 corridor, parts of Prince William, much of South Arlington, upper Great Falls, etc. So, either the demographic estimates are off, or you'd think there would be a few schools with >10%.
Why do you think there are no Jews in S. Arlington?
There are (at least) two in my kid's class in South Arlington, both are from interfaith families

+1
MCPS has many more Jewish people.

“almost” no Jews in “much” of South Arlington. Based on experience, and looking at my synagogue directory.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:OP here. Also, Chutpah is not a great Jewish Deli. Mediocre at best. I thought Celebrity Deli I Falls Church was pretty good, but not sure if it still exists.
So then you're saying that the stats in the study that OP posted are wrong?
DP here, but did you read the whole study? The Suburban Maryland counties included were limited to Montgomery and Prince George's County. The NoVA counties in the study includes Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince Williams, so it's not surprising the the total population of Jews from all of NoVA is higher. I am curious that if Howard County was included, what the stats would show. Moreover, if you compare county to county, Montgomery would still have a higher Jewish population than the individual NoVA counties.
Montgomery County covers as much ground as Fairfax County, Arlington, and the City of Alexandria combined. You would be loading the dice to compare MoCo to just one NoVa jurisdiction.
No, that's incorrect.
Fairfax County itself is bigger than MoCo and has a bigger population.
A simple Google search could have told you so.
I know this is DCUM, but do you people just make things up to make you feel better?
.
Yup, this. Plus a bunch of Jews in Arlington, in Alexandria, in Loudoun, in PWC. Jews in NoVa are A Much more scattered than in MoCo and B. Less likely to be Orthodox. So much less visible Jewish life, despite the total numbers.
Except Fairfax is smaller than Montgomery.
And the suggestion that only Orthodox Jews count is offensive to many Jews, both in this country and elsewhere.
