Subject: If you have a high HHI does your teen expect a car?
My sister's kids had no interest in driving, didn't get cars from their parents and waiting until 20 or so to get licenses.
On the other hand, my 16 year old son is car crazy and wishes he had something with 400 or so horsepower.
Fortunately, he has no money and we can't afford to get him a car. He is left with borrowing the family Prius when it's available.

That's a pretty broad statement and probably not true at all.
Normal in my kids public school. Student parking lots are full, not enough spaces for the kids as it is.
Sure, parking lots are full. But that says nothing. But your implication that only kids who live in apartments and whose families struggle with money don't have cars is highly unlikely to be true. Plenty of regular middle and even upper middle class families don't give cars to their kids.

We live in an Urban area...no expectations of a car...nowhere to park it at hone or school

We moved from DC to Scottsdale, AZ. My daughter attends private high school and the student lot is full of Mercedes, Range Rovers, BMW, etc. there’s about 5 late model G wagons. It’s insane, a cR is not just expected, but the expectation is for something really nice. We’re looking at some used Honda’s, fortunately my daughter isn’t a keep up with the Jones type.
