I saw Sean Cassidy in Denver CO at the Rainbow Music Hall and that was Queen that opened

I was the monitor engineer for that tour. Virgin was the opener for all the shows during that time. I think the reason for the question about Queen is because Virgin did a version of "We Will Rock You" during their set. The band was actually quite good and did a lot of cover tunes. Great tour!

I saw Shaun Cassidy in Ohio as well. I can’t remember an opening act, though.

I tend to agree with this. Queen was already a big rock band in 1976 and doubt that they would have opened for bubble gum popstar.

I am the OP of this thread and I heartily agree! Queen is <chef's kiss>. Hence my angst about the whole Shaun Cassidy / Queen memory. That just couldn't be, could it? Anyway, it was Virgin - whoever they are/were. Great hair though. I just love that there were so many of us confused by our early childhood memories of stomp stomp clapping. And thank you intrepeid PP who found that newspaper article!
