I think the reason for the question about Queen is because Virgin did a version of "We Will Rock You" during their set. The band was actually quite good and did a lot of cover tunes. Great tour!

My dad took me and my older sister because we were in love with Shaun from the Hardy Boys. I remember singing we will rock you all the way home. That song came out in 77 (date is off in the movie.) It had to be Queen. We couldn't both be wrong. Maybe I could be off a little on the year. I too have tried to confirm it without success.
I tend to agree with this. Queen was already a big rock band in 1976 and doubt that they would have opened for bubble gum popstar.Anonymous wrote:I don't know this Shawn Cassidy, but in 1979 Queen was huge in Europe, they toured even Yugoslavia that was still a socialist country in 1979. I doubt they were an opening act in the US. But, maybe...
Anonymous wrote:I attended Shaun Cassidy's concert at the Greek Theatre in Hollywood (sometime between 1977 and 1979). I was in my 20s and took my kid sister and her friend who were huge Cassidy fans. The opening act was most definitely Queen. So I don't think "anonymous" imagined that she saw Queen opening for Shaun in Baltimore - because they certainly did in LA!
Anonymous wrote:Separate and apart from the question of whether Queen opened for Shaun Cassidy (lol), and with all due respect to the middle-aged/elderly women on this thread, Shaun Cassidy should not be mentioned in the same sentence as Queen. Queen was a legendary rock band with a transcendental talent as the lead singer. Shaun Cassidy is . . . not.
