Perry's rereleased some flavors in the fall - Butterscotch Sundae was delicious. Butterscotch ice cream with a butterscotch swirl and honey roasted peanuts.

Peppermint, peanut butter chocolate, and butter pecan. I’m partial to Baskin Robbins.

This was seasonal (Christmas time) and it was great - have not seen it for a while in this area, but used to eat it in grad school in Boston!

Ben and Jerry's

or Breyers

or nothing.

Nothing like NE ice cream and dairy and farms! Now, if only they would get some of their non chain groceries here. Won't happen, but we can dream.

I love Edy’s Neapolitan.

I have found most Friendly's flavors to be absolutely delicious. I used to absolutely love Breyers plain vanilla bean but in the last couple years it hasn't tasted good to me and the consistency is different. I don't think I have found a friendly's flavor that I didn't like.

The key to any ice cream is to make sure it's called "ice cream" and not "frozen dairy dessert". Breyers and Edy's is now "frozen dairy dessert" and it sucks.

Watch out, Turkey Hill is also headed down that path. Butter Pecan, Pistachio, Eggnog, and Pumpkin from that brand are all now frozen dairy dessert. For now you can read the red lid and watch out for anything that doesn't say "real ice cream."

Sad that's the less expensive store brands are more likely to sell actual ice cream.

I can’t believe that people count brands like Turkey Hill as ‘ice cream’.
Because it’s not.

Ingredients - so many additives, so much air.

Ingredients: MILK, SUGAR, CORN SYRUP, ROASTED PECANS (PECANS, COTTONSEED OIL, BUTTER, SALT), NONFAT MILK, WHEY, POLYDEXTROSE, CREAM, NATURAL FLAVORS, CALCIUM CARBONATE, PROPYLENE GLYCOL MONOESTERS, GUAR GUM, MONO & DIGLYCERIDES, CELLULOSE GUM, CARRAGEENAN, VITAMIN A, VITAMIN D3.

The words "frozen dairy dessert" sound far less appealing than "ice cream," which evokes a sense of childhood nostalgia (at least for me) about the satisfying sweetness that made hot summer days just a little bit more bearable. But the reason that some ice cream packages note that the product inside is a "frozen dairy dessert" is due to FDA regulations on the the term "ice cream."

So good! There was a Great Value brand ice cream (speaking of not high end) I really liked that was coconut flavored and had chocolate covered almonds but I think it was discontinued. Anyone know of a similar flavor?

This is probably my all-time lifetime favorite.

I always love peppermint when I can find it (or make it). Homemade vanilla is also amazing.

My current to-die-for flavor is Dolcezza Gelato Peanut Butter Stracciatella. Great peanut flavor and just the right amount of chocolate. Amazing!

Oh - and B&J Brownie Batter but I haven't seen that in years.
