What is the average height of American men? And is 5’4 still average for women? I feel like most women seem taller than that now, 5’5-5’6.

OP is 5'5. The average height of an American woman is 5'4. So, she's pretty average. Above average height for women is 5'7+.


What ever makes you feel better! It still remains that the guy in question is short, and OP is not short by any standards.

+1. My husband is 5’7” and I’m 5’8.5”. We have been very happily married for almost 13 years. He is the most amazing man I’ve ever met, and our heights have never been an issue whatsoever!!!
