hmmm, if yo want a ritzy shopping district you should go to friendship heights.
City center. The high end shops are not doing that great up Wisconsin close to Bethesda.

Many retail shops were closed during the recession around 2007-2009. It never quite recovered - probably due to online shopping.

There really isn't a "Park Cities" of DC. Kalorama is the closest. I once heard Cleveland Park described as the land of $150,000 kitchens and crumbling front porches, and that is pretty accurate.

I remember those places! I suppose I didn’t realize they’re not still around. I’m in this thread mourning the closure of Third Edition which was my personal fave in Georgetown. Went to Smith Point once but too preppy for my me and my crew.
