Columbus is a booming city with strong growth, one of the best economies in the country, a hub for small and large businesses alike, and is a leader in startup activity.
Good that you're staying away.

The crime rate in Columbus is much higher than the national average and higher than other places within Ohio.
I have relatives who live there and out of the 8 of them, all of them have been the victim of some type of crime (mugging, in a store being robbed, carjacked) and two have been seriously wounded (stabbed, shot).
The overall crime rate is 60% higher than the average of crimes committed in Ohio. It is also 62% higher than the national average. When it comes to violent crimes, Columbus, OH shows a crime rate that is 74% higher than the Ohio average.

This is such a dumb post. DC is far more dangerous. Have you been to Lewiston, ME home of Bates College? A man was killed by a pack of Somali middle and high school kills last summer.

Better than DC and a “whatabout” single incident is a pretty lame defense. Are the stats cited accurate or not?

lol what.... this is so wrong. OP, I went to OSU and had a great experience, and no I'm not particularly into football. The school is so big that anyone can find their niche, and Columbus is a great city. It was the perfect college experience.
