Every kid has been picked on doing their lifetime it's prime season in MS. Get over it.
If you make accusations about someone being sexually active, giving blowjobs, etc or if you talk about wanting to F a teacher at the school or make sexual accusations of what teacher is Fing what teacher that can fall into the realm of sexual harassment. The whole "ship" thing can also go into bulling. Often they take a child who is not popular and will match that person with someone who is so people can mock it. Boys who are well liked have felt embarrassed and humiliated by things girls have posted that they want to do to them. It is bullying.
Our principal has been veryr eceptive as are principals around the country. When the principal ignores it, sometimes angry parents get the authorities involved. You don't want that happening. I suggest you take your head out of the sand because these are all stepping stones to worse things and there are far too many kids who now have police records because of what their parents considered harmless fun.
authorities don't get involved unless there is a crime committed and none of what you describe is criminal. Principals at public school also have to balance first amendment rights (which apply to public school students) as well as the fact that they have zero investigative power. A smart kid using a pseudonymous account who refuses to answer questions won't and probably can't be punished in a public school

As other have said, MS has always been Lord of the Flies. It just now has a digital component. If parents want this to stop, simple stop giving these kids smart phones and social media. How many organizations have to tell parents that these things are not appropriate for this age group before folks really start listening. Otherwise, prepare kids that this will likely happen and how to deal with this both through official channels and learning to ignore it.

Some workplaces won't just google your kid's name, but will do a deep dive. This means things that your kid thought he deleted come back to haunt him in adulthood.
Yep. We tell our boys this all of the time and we practice what we preach. Both of us have an almost zero Internet presence. We both never had Facebook accounts and I am the only one in the family with Instagram with my siblings and extended family as only followers.

I didn’t let my sons get Instagram accounts until HS. My 7th grade son doesn’t have one which may be why he is happy.
Read the studies on social media and tween/teen depression. I do think it’s worse with girls.
