That's ridiculous. I tis good to have a bunch of doctors work part time so that if we ever have a massive event and need more doctors immediately, they can step up and we instantly have more doctor hour capability. I see it as insurance.

I have family and friends in the medical field and they are all, male and female alike, demanding a better work environment and work/life balance. They've had enough of the ridiculous schedules (80+ hour workweeks are common) and demands placed upon them (like seeing 6 patients per hour).
If given the choice between a female doctor who was smart enough to get into medical school on her own accord and is well-rested and happy due to good work-life balance, or a male doctor who only got into school because all the females stopped joining, has been working 12 hour days all week, and is running off of 4 hours of sleep.....I know who I'd rather see.
