So you are saying that FCV is in trouble because they lost to GFR last year? With that logic Loudoun is in trouble because they lost to McLean this year. And oh by the way, FCV went on to win the state cup championship for the VPL, where was GFR?
You clearly do not understand the wheels that are in motion. GFR is a pipeline team for WS. Their players practice 1x per week with WS DA coaches. That is new this year. The current 06 and older WS teams were not build from GFR as a foundation but the 07s will be. And that WS 07 foundation is stronger than the FCV 07 base.
I assume the VPL state cup comment is a joke. McLean and Loudoun did not play in that one - it's just another mid level tournament below Jeff Cup, WAGS and others that have the best teams from OH, GA, PA, VA coming. Those are the tournaments that FCV runs ways from.
But congratulations ahead of time for the weekend. FCV will go undefeated. You can't lose if you don't play. Impressive.
No, I completely understand the wheels that are in motion. So you are saying that the GFR 07 team is a stronger foundation for WS 07 for next year because they practice once a week with WS DA coaches? Unless I am mistaken FCV is a DA club, their 07s are already entrenched in the DA process, and they are coached once a week by FCV DA coaches.
The VPL state cup comment was simply to point out that even though FCV 07 lost to GFR in a regular season game which had little to no significance, they went on to play in the finals and GFR did not (yes I know that VPL state cup does not have much significance either, but if were using a regular season loss to make it appear that GFR is better, I was just pointing out that they did not make it)
Great Falls has yet to lose to FCV. Great Falls never played FCV in State Cup so no head to head comp there.
Great Falls players are also coached by DA coaches once a week, same as FCV.
Where is the FCV 07 advantage? If FCV does not draw from Loudoun, and multiple Loudoun parents on the board are telling you that they are not interested then FCV has to recruit from WS's geographic area. FCV could draw from VSA/VDA but that has not worked out as those kids have stayed put.

Why do they need to go to the ID sessions if they already play for the club and the coaches already know them? If they are top players, they should just get offers without any ID sessions.
Lol, the funniest comment I ever did see. GL with that.
No, the funniest comment was toughting VPL State Cup as a big accomplishment.

Most players and parents do not want to step down, leave friends, etc. Loudoun has a great reputation, better facilities, better coaches, the ECNL national exposure. Not hard to understand
No McLean 07 is considering FCV ,, all crazy talk ECNL will win this group. Maybe some 2nd tier players go Spirit or ARL, but this FCV stuff is nonsense.
Lucky win too
So then McLean was lucky to beat Loudoun in the OBGC final?

Because soccer is a two-way street. Players show interest in a program for the following year by coming to ID sessions.
