if you have been using it correctly, then you know there is a student assistant, known as Milo, a cute dog, to help you when you need it. Milo can easily offer you an explanation, a video of the problem worked out, and also a similar problem worked out without video.

you can then get mathspace to give you a retake problem to help you close the gap in understanding of that concept.

still confused, Milo can also utilize AI to help provide you another way to approach the problem.

mathspace is great so that when you are doing homework and need help but have no parents, siblings, or friends around, you have all the help you need inside mathspace from Milo.

He isnt avalible on any of the questions i actully need help on

then tell your teacher to put him on.

when your teacher creates a task for you to do, the teacher has final say if Milo is ON or OFF, which will affect the availability of hints, videos, and examples.

They are supposed to be picking out a new math basil resource for each grade level that is supposed to be used countywide. They are specifically said that this should include textbooks, and Dr. Reid said it should be one textbook per student. It is supposed to go into effect for this coming year for the older grades, but seeing as how the purchase of the social studies textbook was delayed because of the budget, I’m not sure if it will happen right away or not. Either way, when you write in, be sure to remind them that we really need textbooks for kids. https://www.fcps.edu/community-review-mathematics-basal-resources

Dude I can't handle all the f&cking platforms they have. I just found out today that something that wasn't in Schoology my kid missed because it was in some other random place that I can't double check.

Is math not an exact discipline? That’s kind of a flimsy argument, answers should be exact. -3^2 is different than (-3)^2. 2/4 is not a simplified answer.

It makes kids mad because for years they’ve been able to put down gibberish trash and get credit, and now they can’t. It’s a good thing!

There are plenty of ways to use it to learn. There are full text lessons with each topic. The system can show you the next step. You can select to “redo” missed problems to try them again. You can ask for a hint. You can chat the program and ask specific questions.

If you are just using it to type in the final answer and not taking advantage of all the other stuff, then I can see how it is frustrating, but that’s not how it’s intended to work.

So far so good in geometry with my kid. He’s gotten mostly 100% on the assignments. Teacher is a fair grader and rounds up.

They will be putting together a committee of parents/teachers/central office folks this year to select a new resource (or repurchase mathspace)
