Do Drs. DiMattina and Gordon do all of the ERs/ETs at Dominion, or does their weekend doctor also do them if they fall on the weekend?

PP, Dr Gordon is the best, I had him for most of my monitoring and my ET, Dr. Dimattina did my ER and I assume it went well although I don't remember it, but the important thing is it worked.

I went to DF...and I think I saw Dr. G for about 95% of all my visits for IVF. He did all my egg retrievals and and transfers. I think he delayed the start of one of my cycles, so that he would be back from vacation before I started.

In my personal experience with Dr. G...he just seemed to be vested in and caring about his patients...I think he WANTS to be there for most of your care.

I'm at SG and had my RE, Dr Greenhouse do much of my monitoring and both of my embryo transfers. I don't feel like I see a lot of different docs at SG. Just my experience.

I agree with 11:12. I've been to both SG and DF, and like both clinics. However, at both of them, I saw whoever was "on duty" that day. At SG, I rarely saw my doctor (and he did not do the ER or ET for either of my 2 IVFs). At DF, during the week I would usually see my RE for the monitoring, but have had whoever is on duty for ET and ERs. There is a greater chance that you'll get *your* RE for the procedure since it is a smaller practice.

Anyone here use GIVF before and had any success? I'm currently with them and have been disappointed with the service. I've only seen my doctor twice and every other doctor in between. Is it like that at every fertility clinic? Whoever is on duty is who you see?
My first IVF cycle did not work and thinking of going to SG. Suggestions??

If your reason for switching is that you are seeing a lot of different doctors rather than "your" doctor all the time, don't go to SG b/c you will experience the same thing. It's a large practice and you will see many different doctors, esp. if you go to different locations for monitoring, etc.

I meant every other year they have a huge party with clowns, moon bounces, cotton candy...you name it!

Last year they hosted it at the Natl Zoo. All the families enjoyed the party and poked around the zoo. My husband and I were laughing that the other zoo patrons must have been wondering what was in the water because there were so many sets of multiples running around.

I didn't even read this thread but just figured I'd post my two cents. We were SG patients and getting frustrated with them, so went to meet with Dr. DiMattina on the advice of a good friend, even after reading all of the negative things about him on this forum. We found all of the warnings to be true and absolutely detested his personality, so decided to stick with SG (and are now 20 weeks pregnant). That said, our good friends love and trust Dr. D even though they're still trying...so to each their own!

I had an excellent experience at Shady Grove and was a very difficult case. They are experts and their lab is one of the best.

I have stage 4 endo, a septated uterus (which they surgically corrected), damaged ovaries, high FSH, blocked tubes and my husband has male factor infertility. I did two IVF/ICSI cycles at SG and had successful pregnancies both times.

They have bi-yearly family picnics and it's wonderful to see all the doctors and staff interacting with all of the happy families. These people care about what they do.

I am a DF patient and I saw them as hopeful...
I haven't been back since my little ones were born, but I am guessing that their picture is up there too!

And I was there one afternoon and I heard the staff cooing over the newest picture to come in...I think they DO look forward to those pictures coming in...and it is obvious in the way they treat their patients that they always do their best.

I love Dominion Fertility and my baby's picture is on their wall, and I wasn't bothered by the pictures when I was going through DE to get pregnant. Now I'm doing a natural cycle ET using frosties from that cycle, and I mentioned the above negative posts about their office decor to the staff. They said those pictures remind them of the joy that has come to so many of their patients, and helps motivate them to do their best. They were surprised that some people didn't like it.
