You are right, they are almost $400, but if you judge them by how many times you will wear them, then it's worth it. I've had these pants for 3 years already. They still look new. Because they fit so well and I've always looked good in wide legged pants, I'll wear them for at least 7 more years.

Only someone who has no style would say this. They might not look good on YOU, but they are not ridiculous. I'm an executive and these pants are fabulous. I have them in white and black. I may buy another pair just because they are so fabulous.

Yeah, I shopped at those places in my 20's, before I had kids. Now I'm 46 and shop at Talbots. Some women with petite frames can get away with it, but I'm 5'8" and a) a lot of the clothes look too young and b) the hips and waists are too narrow after I had kids.

NP I think they are horrible but I am 5ft tall and bottom heavy. I have no business in those pants.

They are pretty much for thin petite women. Only very thin people would look good in those.

I was thinking of “mall stores” since we’re discussing Chico’s. I also get things from Madewell and Everlane. I plan to try M M LaFleur soon.

Same here. I was a Talbots proponent on the other thread. And I only buy my work pants there because I’m 5’11” and their 36” works much better than most places 34”

Those are stretch pants, they’re not chinos. They’re only 80% cotton when a chino really should be at least 99% cotton.

No - chinos are supposed to be a cotton pant. You can’t make them into stretchy close fitting tights and call them chinos - it’s weird. That much stretch in pants makes it feel like you are wearing a bathing suit or something. That’s not a chino it’s a jegging.

While I agree that you shouldn't shun an entire store based on perception, just pulling up the homepage of Talbots shows quite a few prints that I'm just not a fan of, and very blah colors.

I know I personally find it hard to answer the question "where do you shop?" because the answer is literally everywhere. There isn't one store that is a go-to for an entire wardrobe. I would say I pick up a lot of things at Nordstrom but from various brands. And obviously it depends on what you wear to work regularly. It's much easier to look stylish when you don't have to be so formal/stuffy.
