Expert guidance also told me to breastfeed for a year. But I didn't. And yet, my kid is healthy and thriving and in college.

The car seat was a disaster. We tried it at 18 months flying to California, and it was so bad that we left the seat there and bought a new one when we got home. He kicked the seat in front of him the whole time, screamed for 5 hours from being restrained, and couldn't sleep because the seat was too upright. Worst trip we've ever done, and we've flown cross country easily 10 times in the last 4 years.

We now have to buy him a seat (he's 4), but I will never again lug a car seat on board.
