Really? I don’t think I have ever had a thirty minute conversation with someone I just met, ever (unless it was a planned date or interview). 5-10 minutes...the amount of time it takes to drink a cup of coffee or eat lunch or push my kid on a swing ...but 30 minutes is a long time.
Then maybe you're not as social as some of the rest of us. It's really not that out of the ordinary. I've been at conferences and met people in my line of work and had chats like that before. I don't think it's anything that strange.
That’s probably true. I am not super social. Are other people regularly having long meals or coffee with people they meet at the restaurant?
I'm chatty. I can keep up a conversation for a five hour plane ride. I chat in line with people. I could easily chat for half an hour with someone next to me at a coffee shop. If I had something major in common with them, like a specific line of work, absolutely that would happen.

Oh, OP, I also wouldn’t be spreading my legs for a man who can’t grt to work, but can find time to chat up every coed he meets.

Your wife, but I don’t even believe your story.
You didn’t sleep well the night before, wondering how to spin it that you were leaving work early.
And of course, the day that you just happened to not sleep and happened to leave work early, there just happened to be a young woman in a Tshirt emblazoned with the fact that she happens to work in the same branch of science as you do. Oh and wait, also the same branch as your daughter. And of course you happened to have 1/2 hour of free time to chat with her.
How fruitious. Maybe you should buy a lottery ticket, with all the coincidence following you.
Oh my god, you're nuts.
Op, you're fine. These people, including your wife's friend, are crazy.
NP here, and I have to agree with PP. OP, you didn't do anything wrong. Your wife's friend sounds like a troublemaker. As for your wife, you might want to consider thinking through why she has allowed her friend's troublemaking behavior to agitate her so much.

Intellectually, I found her engaging and funny. Physically, I did not really notice. I mean she was not drop dead gorgeous.
