I don't care if women choose to overspend on handbags. However, it bothers me when women think that carrying a designer bag automatically makes them stylish. I see fashion blog posts, street style pics and real life wannabe fashionistas who wear ho-hum, snooze inspiring clothing and carry a designer bag (usually covered with monogram branding) and think they look stylish.

No man I know knows what a nice bag is and certainly not "loubs" vs random no name high heels.

You need to meet a better class of man.

The loubs class? Where do I find them?

But is it your money though?? no? Okay... So why do you care?!

I wouldn't dish my own money but Mines are gifts from my husband throughout the years. I have single friends who spend on them and since it's not my money... I don't care!

Well okay. But why do you care what I do?

If you are riding the bus and living in a cardboard box your designer bag makes you look like you are a victim of stupidity.

ok and if I am riding in my Mercedes SUV and living in a 5k sf inner Beltway home?

I mean come on. This whole thread is stupid.

Some people are into fashion. If you go to NYC, many women carry $1000+ bags. So, you're not into it. Who are you to judge? Stop caring what others are doing. Maybe they judge you for spending a lot of a car or something else? Who cares!

I rarely buy handbags--maybe once every 4 or 5 years. My current hand bag, I paid about $450. I had never heard of the name brand before--I just really liked the look of the bag. I've received a lot of compliments on it.

It literally wastes no time to think to yourself “wow, what an idiot.”

Quiet good quality - love love love my Longchamp Tote. I realize it screams practical, but i think it also look inoffensive and decent.

Also Celine, smythson, bottega

I’ll admit I have a Louis Vuitton speedy that I love (they are good quality and sturdy) but rarely wear as I can’t help feeling it looks like I’m trying too hard and I’m too old to wear what is probably perceived as a “starter” luxury bag.

The LV bag has nearly doubled in price since I bought it 8 years ago which just amazes me.
