I don't see why a practice would be official roster issues, but I don't know the guest rules outside of official DP (development players). From what has been going on this year, it seems guest players (not DPs) may be allowed in showcases.

A Developmental Player may appear in a maximum of six (6) Academy games per season. Developmental Players cannot participate in the Academy Playoffs or Academy Championships. i think any more than 6, and not changed to FT endangers the eligibility status of that team.

I was talking about the involvement of coaches (not team managers which we didn't have this year anyways) and their involvement in the college recruitment process.

Being a manager is challenging. I take my hat off to all managers. They ate the unsung heroes of youth soccer. I good manager is worth their weight in gold.

I did it for a couple years when my daughter was u10/u11 age. Involved maintaining the calendar, carding (and laminating & maintaining cards) all the kids, managing guest players, preparing rosters, registering and checking in for tournaments, paying refs (depends on league), and general communications. We had a treasurer to handle the money, but I was also able to sign checks and use the account for team purchases (like a bench). It can be a lot of work.
