I have a friend like this. She married a gorgeous guy right after college. She was rather plain looking but has a great personality.

I think they just celebrated 35 years of marriage.

Some people are being too judgemental of the OP.

What she said is fair enough and cannot be denied. Most people tend to pair off with people or comparable looks. Some men do manage to marry much more attractive women. But it is unusual for a very attractive man to marry a far less attractive woman.

You can point out all the exceptions and attack the OP for being shallow, but you’re just ignoring the reality. It is unusual for a good looking man to end up with a less attractive woman at the onset of the relationship. It is not unusual to be surprised and comment on it (as long as it’s done privately and non judgemental).

Your society is truly superficial.

In my mid-20's I dated a truly gorgeous woman for about six months. I was stunned that she would even talk to me as were my friends! I had hit the jack pot. But I soon discovered that her conversational skills were limited to her talking about herself and the little world around her. She had an incredible body but in bed she was a disappointment. I was no super stud but I knew it wasn't about me. After six month she no longer looked so "gorgeous" so I moved on. A year later I met a very pretty woman who was super smart and a ton of fun and was great in bed. We've been married a long time.

If the topic is chubby girls landing men, why are you scrutinizing photos of women after 20 years of marriage?

I think she's cute. Objectively, Hugh Jackman isn't that good looking. We just think he is because he's a star.

+1 I subjected myself to that for way too long. She was just mean, terrible in bed and ruined everything that could have been fun.

This right here! Sometimes hot women are a pain to deal with and they typically are pillow princesses who are not good in bed. They just assume that men are going to put up with their BS because they are hot. Men want women who make then feel good and treat them right. OP, face it you are jealous because you don't have a man or could never land a hot guy like your friend. By the way, men don't like jealous and insecure women like yourself because you are toxic. We could see you coming miles away. First, work on your self esteem. Second, focus on not being envious of other people's good fortune and success. Third, I hope that your friend ends your friendship because you are not a true friend. A true friend will be happy that their friend found someone who makes them happy.
