Your income is such that you can get F/A. Chicago is worth it with steep discount. There are people in the donut hole for whom full-pay isn't worth it.

My S chose UChicago over UVA. With the financial aid package we were offered, UChicago is less than $10k per year more than UVA instate so for my S it was a no brainer. But I acknowledge rational parents and HS seniors can go the other way and choose UVA.

BTW my S confirms Rory Gates is a member of the class of 2022 based on his posts in the official UChicago Class of 2022 FB group. Gates applied and was accepted ED1.

I googled for the announcement that Rory Gates would attend U Chicago and the only place I saw this was on reddit. Not the most reliable source. And there’s another Reddit thread that has him attending Vanderbilt.

I went to GW and wish it was in the same category. It is borderline top 50 in US News but frankly it should be top 30ish. New President of school will get it there.
