This. You need to STOP responding in any way to her attempts to bait you. (And don't be fooled into thinking you are the first person she has scammed this way and then tried to turn it around to play the victim. This is a way of life for this woman, and you won't beat her at that game.)

If you feel you must respond, then just repeat the same line every time. Something like "I'm sorry you feel this way. Please do not continue to contact me unless it is to notify me of the date that you plan to deliver the outstanding payment of $200 that you owe for my child care services."

$200 is cheap, all things considered. Just think if you had multiple families flake like this.

Use the time to give the other families a heads up that you are restructuring the payment schedule,* and think about making explicit some things noted above if not already there (late fees, charge for babysitting outside of daycare hours, etc).

*Take the high road. Do not bad mouth anyone. If you must say anything: "It became markedly apparent that I needed to make these changes, unfortunately," and leave it at that. No names.

Trust me, they will know anyway.

Never mind. Just saw that was you. I would eat the remaining $200 and chalk it up to lessons learned about how to better conduct business in the future.

Yes. She's not a responsible person at all. She has left her daughter in the same diaper and clothes many days. Her daughter is in the same diaper from 5pm to the next morning. I know because I use my sons diapers on her. She also dropped her daughter off a few days ago KNOWING that she had a stomach virus. There are so many things that have gone with this lady. I am so happy to be done with her. Some parents are awful.

Are you the mom in the thread last week about the parent picking up her kid late from your kid’s birthday party? Some of the details seem very similar.

And OP chalk this up as a lessons learned for future clients. Have an agreement in writing and charge for services beforehand. I would even move your current clients onto a pre-pay schedule, just give them plenty of notice that you’re doing it so they can adjust their finances accordingly, maybe even phasing in the change.
