Davidson is a great school. As for W&L, I wouldn't be so quick to write it off as too conservative or too Greek without stopping for a visit, and it is on the way to Davidson.

Then I’d absolutely choose UVA. My brother went to Davidson and I never got the impression there is much of a science focus.


Davidson grad here. The above poster is incorrect. Davidson has historically had a very strong pre-med program. Many of my Davidson classmates became doctors.

I'm extremely liberal, but I can tell you W&L is not at all like this. I left very impressed with the school and its resources, as well as the kindness and intelligence of the students. Yes, greek life is central, but greek life is central at places like MIT and Dartmouth as well.
