Nope. I work hard to stay out of the pubic eye. No desire.

I'll go against the grain and say that I've accumulated maybe 1.5 minutes of fame. I'm fine with this.

I was in an industrial film that was required viewing at new employee orientation for a worldwide company in the 1990s. Had a few people recognize me or ask me about it! The film ran for five years!

Sober support?

I don't know if this counts, and it certainly wasn't 15 minutes, but I made out with Dave Matthews. I was at UVA when he was playing TRAX every Tuesday night. Boyd Tinsley worked out at my gym when I came back for grad school. The kissing was in front of a bunch of people, and I was "that girl" for awhile. Wasn't necessarily welcome attention.

When I was 10 I had my name listed in Stickers Magazine as someone looking for a pen pal. I ended up getting 500 letters (full of stickers) from all over the US. I lived in California, so I think girls thought it was glamorous. The mailman left bags of mail and wasn't pleased. My mom and I tried sending form letters back, but it got to be too much.

In the mid 90s I was lead role in a play at a theater in Hamburg Germany (in English). Its a small city and I couldn't go on the subway or to bars without being approached. It was lovely because everyone was friendly and so excited to meet me. That was for about 4 months. It never happened again and I changed career a couple years later.

When I was a kid, I wrote a letter to Dear Abby that was published and received a lot of attention. Abby did a follow up column on me and sent me my “fan” mail. Several newspapers and TV stations did mini profiles on me. I was a pretty shy kid and hadn’t even told my parents I’d written the letter, so they were pretty surprised.

I worked in the media. My level of being in the public eye was only like a sidekick type, as I mostly did production. But once at a bar a guy knew who I was, and once taxi driver figured it out. I would occasionally (a few times a year) get fan mail or people contacting me for my own advice.

I was also part of event planning for the organization, and sometimes the crazy public who attended events also wanted specifically to talk to me or get my autograph. So odd. I know it was mostly because of the actual minor celebrities I was working with, and I was just more available and accessible, but I admit it was fun.

Once I appeared in a national newspaper, drunk and happy, after my home team won the Superbowl. Did an interview and everything, then forgot about it until a coworker sent me a link to the article.

That’s about it.
