I'd say there is a more than decent chance that she is the caregiver a PP referenced above. If so, I would think the previous employer might be amenable to taking down her post if the OP no longer is working in childcare. OP's transgressions were pretty awful.....do people change that drastically?

It is more likely the employer created the site immediately after and it has just risen to the top of the search results because of OP’s distinct name and time. OP says she’s changed, which implies considerable time has passed since the site’s creation — I doubt the creator made the site a week ago and is holding a grudge.

Which begs the question of how long ago was OP fired?

And frankly if you did something to jeopardize children, you deserve to have this follow you.

Send a Cease and desist letter to the host of the website.

It doesn't sound like op is working with children anymore. Yes, she screwed up, but that shouldn't haunt her the rest of her life and impact her employment in unrelated fields.

How long ago was this, and has the statute of limitations passed for her to sue you for what you actually did to her/her kids? She might be motivated to sue you if you start sending her legal cease and desist notices. I would try to avoid dealing directly with this person. Don't apologize or admit any wrongdoing, in writing or otherwise. I agree that your best option is to try to get the search results buried. You could also use a first initial/middle name for your resume and professional website, which could help break with future employment. Also, contacting the host site directly is a good idea, they may be more easily persuaded to remove it. Good luck, I don't know what you did but hopefully you've learned from it.

I seriously wonder if I know you, OP.

I know someone who got a nanny job when she was 21 by lying about her experience. She faked her resume and had her friends vouch as fake references. All she saw was the $$$ in the ad for the nanny job and did whatever she had to in order to land the job.

Then she did things like lose one of the kids and bribe them with junk food to keep quiet. Forget to pick them up at the correct time. Work while stoned, including driving them around. She’d tell the mom the dry cleaner lost pieces of clothing and then sell them on eBay. She also stole other items from them and sold them on eBay. She finally got caught when she was in an accident with the kids in the car while stoned. The police called the parents and it came out that her license was actually suspended.

I know the mom blasted her all over social media. This mom posted in every mommy group FB page and every list serv for the surrounding areas. Never made her own website that I know of, though.

This person has a unique name, so if you Google her, the on-blast posts come up first. This person eventually got herself together and work in a corporate environment now but b*tches from time to time that the negative old stuff holds her back in getting better jobs and dating.

OP, have you actually asked her to take the website down? How long ago did she post this blog? Is it an actual website or just a blog entry? It sounds like she posted it years ago and is not actively adding to it. Is that correct?
