This. She has a good chance of getting in simply because she is out of state.
Not a great school....but it’s a school.
Well, aren't you a pretentious ass. I guess only HYPS make the cut for you as a "great school" and everything else is a school. Some people on here are insufferable.
If DD had great stats then we would be looking at great schools. Unfortunately, she does not have that luxury. News flash, not everyone does.
It is ranked (USNWR #42) ahead of other good state schools including Wisconsin (46), Penn State (52), Ohio State (54), Georgia (54), Texas (56), UMD (61).

Berkeley computer science? sure. Florida for full boat? lol
So you draw the line at Berkley or bust - umm ok. In case you have not noticed, not exactly a lot of options in MD after UMD.
Are you going to send your kid to Frostburg, Bowie, Salsbury?
For out of state public U at full price? I draw the line at top 10 engineering Us.

I went there. ‘87 grad. Grew up in Gville. Came up to DC for law school. OOS requirements are tougher. My DD (junior in HS is considering UF) along with VATech, UVA, WM.
Research the school as well as others.
Don’t let the typical snobs on here deter you. They are just upset that I didn’t hire their kids after they just spent over $300k for undergrad and a law degree.![]()
