It's not sexism. It's biology. Women give birth to babies. Not men. This act means women are more linked to children than men and this continues when/if they breastfeed and as they recover from childbirth.


Transgender men should get the whole thing and actually have babies.

If you wanted to troll, you’d say something like - “all my friends who married rich men are quitting their jobs. They’re lovely people and never talk about money explicitly but it’s not hard to figure out either when they’re posting photos from their 4th or 5th exotic vacay and talking about applying to expensive private schools or building a second home on the shore. I’m jealous and I’m baffled because I thought they were ambitious and liked their jobs.”

Op here. I was focused on finding a guy who could e my best friend and would treat me well. My husband is smart and I’m sure in time will do well but marrying him wasn’t like my ticket to the high life. I never thought of dating that way. Who even thinks like that? It's interesting - the friends I have who are far more down the spectrum of actually talking about empowerment and women's rights are the ones who are married to an alcoholic, married to someone she says she doesn't even love, and about to be divorced for the second time. The others who are not un-feminist but who don't sit around talking about it are all working with solid marriages. Sometimes I think people who talk too much are full of it. Sounds like your friends.

I see that. I had no idea their ambitions about getting the most prestigious internships would translate into marrying the richest guy. It’s like...they don’t even talk about themselves anymore.

One is already sending me links to expensive private schools for her 1 year old. Bragging about how her husband really wants their daughter to go to this posh school.

Another talks about how smart and famous her boyfriend is and skips out on dinners with me to attend his industry events as his plus one.


I am left confused...it took me a while to recognize this trend...


Parents have these grand educational goals, however they should be prepared in case the child has a learning disability. There is only so much money can buy.
