I'm 43 and last year I dated a guy who was 65. He looked like he was in his early to mid 50's but he was very upfront about being 65. He was absolutely wonderful in all ways imaginable. He was fun, smart, treated me well and was great in bed. I adored him but he broke it off saying that in 15 years he'd be 80 and I'd still be a young 58 and that would be a bad deal for me. I cried for like two days until I realized he was absolutely right. I'm now dating someone closer to my age and he is dating someone in her late 50's. We are still good friends but oh how I wish he was 15 years younger.

Haha dated a 42yo when I was 23 just to try something very different. I thought he was busy with kids and travelled for work. Then one day his serious girlfriend called me. And that was that!

I hope my daughter marries a man or woman who loves her and respects her. That probably eliminates a lot of guys looking for sex dolls.

Exactly. Which is why I said those 40 year old divorced dads 1) are the ones with money and 2) are being used for said money. Of course those women are being used for sex.

Pretty damn sad arrangement all around.


It is the same basic arrangement as when a 40-something man dates a 40-something woman, except it's a better deal for the man and that's why all the DCUM women hate, hate, hate it.

I think men in their 50s who dated women in their 20s basically just don't take women seriously, in general.

52 year old divorced dad here. Since getting divorced I have dated seven women between the ages of 22 and 29. All were childless, and just one of them had been previously married. I could have easily dated three times that number of young women, but I prefer young lawyers, grad students, and women endowed with intellects, and they are a little harder to find.

I know the 52 year old divorced dad PP or someone just like him. He is fit and attractive for his age, charismatic, and in a profession that puts him in proximity to plenty of very bright young women. I have no doubt he legitimately bagged many of them. However, he should know that he has a distinctly sleazy vibe and won't be able to pull it off for that much linger.

Men are used to being judged mostly on their income/status. Though, I agree that it's a bit of a stretch to claim that men in their 40s are getting the "hot 20 year olds."


They're not. I'm closer to 20s than 40s and women my age and under think 40+ is old. 20 something women have their pick and there are too many single, childless, attractive, professional men available in their 20s and 30s.


I agree. Even in my late thirties I was only willing to date men who were tops 42. Even 45 seemed to old. In my twenties? Hah! No way.
