OP, raise the issue to your principal. They will let you know if its allowed/disallowed. That said, teaching kids about voting is very important. The the hands on activity of touching, reading, and filling out a sample ballot is a critical part of learning about citizenship.

What's that supposed to mean? Are you saying high schools don't need parent volunteers? Our high school depends on literally hundreds of parent volunteer hours per month for various activities, administrative support, sports teams, etc. Why on earth would a school be a "NO PARENT ZONE?"

Because of lines. Every primary, I'd take my students to the polls. We'd walk in and see what was going on. But of course, our goal wasn't to interfere with the process, so we'd have to find someone wasn't busy. Usually, in DC, that's the Republicans. Much shorter lines there. So, we'd go, and they'd hand out sample ballots, and talk the kids through the process, which was great. It let my kids see what the ballots look like, which helped them understand the process.
Being DC, even the Kindergarteners know whether their parents are Democrats or Republicans. I was always clear that real voters could pick whichever party, and thus line, they wanted, but since we weren't voting, we'd go in the short line so we didn't get in people's ways.
I'm confident that I didn't impact a kids' politics by doing this. Even if I was wrong, it seems unlikely that it would stick 13 years down the line.
Question is..... Is doing this against your school system’s regulations? Because, it appears to be against FCPS regs.

I'm as liberal as they come. I don't know that I've ever voted for a Republican candidate in my life time. So why Republican?

This is a violation of FCPS policy and needs to be reported. Because, the parent community needs to be informed that this was wrong and should not have happened.
And, the person who put the ballots in the folder needs to be held accountable.
Thank you. I’m op. I have the right to not name the school. It is a school with mostly low income immigrants. There are many schools like this in falls church. Of course judgmental, narrow minded, racist liberals will once again claim that anyone that’s a republican is anti-immigrant, but I am married to an immigrant! Liberals are such bullies. I don’t think it was the teacher and more likely it was a parent volunteer.
And one last thing, last year, right around election time, I personally saw Trump signs in peoples yards while driving around in falls church, so while we are definitely a minority, there are a few republicans in the falls church area. And if I’m not mistaken, Trump got about 4% of the votes in actual Washington DC!
Have you been in actual Washington DC? There are actual Republicans who live there too. Because, you know, there are actual Republicans. Not to mention a lot of wealth in some places, and people who vote on economic issues and tax cuts.

There is no benefit in me telling you the name of the school! It’s not going to make a difference to anyone if I name the school. Those who don’t believe me won’t suddenly change their mind, and honestly, I don’t care if anyone believes me or not. I posted and asked if anyone else has seen this and apparently they haven’t. That’s good. I’m glad.
To the very kind pp above who suggested I report it, I may just email the teacher as a heads up, that there may be some papers in the folder that weren’t distributed by the school.
