$12k including rings and honeymoon. 75 people, parents house in New England. Perfect size, knew everyone well. Could have been cheaper, but felt necessary to have a tent in case of rain (it drizzled a bit) and hired caterer (didn't want to task family with food prep.)

This whole thread is making me thing that people care a lot less about 'name' and important locations for their weddings/receptions than I once thought. Looks like a whole lot of middle-of-the-road weddings out in the countryside, which is probably a factor of the age at which people got married more than anything else.

about $25k for 100 people (10 tables) at the National Harbor....I think Wolf Gang Puck now has a lock on the catering for the site so it's probably very steep now.

Agree. Wish we had held BBQ reception at his parent's house and saved the money on food/venue/bar. It was a nice wedding but 11 years out I couldn't give two shits less. Never look at my pictures, whatever. It was a day. We're still together, slogging through life as two working parents with two kids. That's all that matters.

3k including dress and make up/hair, court house wedding, plus reception, 50 people, 2005. DH bought the ring which was 2500. Got 2500 in gift money excluding parent's gifts. Still married.
