My family of 4 just destroyed these two large pizzas and we are not fat. DH and I just did a teiathlon 2 weeks ago.
Did you make sure to have a side of steamed green beans with those pizzas?
Definitly not. If I had wanted to cook something, i would have skipped ordering pizza and it certainly wouldn't have been green beans.
NP here. Steamed green beans are for hospitals. Add butter or soy sauce or coconut flakes.

My thought, too
+1 I went to a nutrition class that taught me that the appropriate serving of pizza for an adult is 1/3 of a slice. People eat too much pizza.
Well now that's just ridiculous! My debate with myself when eating a frozen pizza is whether I should eat a third of it at one sitting, or half. Dilemma! Thankfully I don't eat pizza much.
Yeah, that 1/3 of a slice seems off. 1/3 of a frozen pizza is typically a serving size with about 300 calories. But 1/3 of a slice of delivery? At kids' birthday parties and sports the slices are often cut in half. They're small. I can't imagine 1/3 a slice satisfying a teenager or adult, even with salad, veggies, etc.
I think she misheard the nutritionist. Maybe she was there for a weight loss class?
A large pepperoni pizza on normal crust is around 2800 calories.
Divide that by 8 slices and you get about 350 clories.
Divide that slice by a third and you get about 116 calories. Not a reasonable meal for a normal adult.
No one said a healthy meal should consist only of pizza. Eat a third of a slice and add something else---perhaps...green beans and fruit?
So pizza as an appetizer? I lost weight using MFP and on average cheese pizza is 250cal. IF I had pizza, I eat 2 slices ans call it a day. No need to eat greenbeans on pizza night. Defeats the purpose.
I guess I don't just eat one thing for a meal. Pizza (i.e. Carbs+cheese) for me goes with salad. Variety is the spice of life and all...
You sound uptight.
You sound monotonous.

These people are out there.

Family of 5 here. 3 teenage boys, all ober 6'3" two of them heading to Navy with athletic scholarships. All 3 are all American award recipients
We order 4 large pizzas and nobody is fat. Both DH and I are active duty military and have run the MCM for the last 5 years.
My boys easily eat a full pizza each. Im 42 a size 6 and can easily eat a large myself if cheese didn't upset my stomach so much.
One large for my family would be an appetizer.
