Why the nastiness? No one is judging you. I have two kids - one who wants different gourmet foods every day and another who eats three things and can't stand for her food to touch each other. I don't bother about what anyone else's kids are eating or getting for lunch.

It's really not that serious - it was a joke. Battle round - food network - food topic - in food forum. It's not a slow news day so I'm not sure what's wrong with all these hysterical women that try to make something out of nothing. Get over yourself.

No one gets your joke. The tone on all of these threads are becoming horrible because of a few angry women. If you do not have nothing of worth to contribute except criticism then go and spend your time doing something else.

Like others described mine eats variety at home but is harder to please at school. Some favorites
- hard boiled egg, couple nuts, fruit, veggie, olives or pickles and something crunchy like crackers or veggie sticks
- veggie nuggets in a thermos with a side of fruit
I try to send in a hardy snack of full fat yogurt to supplement this.

I'm a newbie since my oldest just started kindergarten but today was leftover falafel, grapes, carrots, a date and a pickle.
Other things that were successful:
Dolmades and white beans in tomato sauce
Pickles slices wrapped with veggie deli slices (we're vegetarian)
Vegetable sushi
Snack packs with like fruit, nuts, cucumber slices, a pickle, a Babybel cheese
I just never know what he'll eat. It's pretty tricky because he eats everything at home and seems pickier at school.

Tuna Fish Cutlet ( https://www.wikihow.com/Make-an-Indian-Tuna-Cutlet) in burger buns. Cutlets freeze well. Spread a mayo/chutney mix on the bread. You can add some greens too.

Rice and beans in thermos
Roll ups with leftover meat or fish and avocado
PB&J
Quessidilas (cheese, bean, leftover meat) or burritos (freeze a bunch and heat them up in toaster oven; kids don’t mind them cold)
Pizza pitas
Leftover pasta
Trail mix and yogurt
All with a fruit, veggie, and sometimes a snack
Hard boiled eggs with some kind of bread/muffin

I love making winter lunches, because my kids eat variations of some kind of bean or bean/rice combo all winter long.
Black beans, mayacobas, lentils, chickpeas....each week it's a different bean in a different "gravy" but all of them get finely chopped kale added into them. One-dish meals that includes veggies.
I also make spinach and feta pasta (with cottage cheese and eggs to up the protein content).
Some days it will be a smorgasbord: some slices of salami, some cheese, handfuls of various veggies...they're not big on sandwiches.
Lasagna is another easy one. Or any of of crockpot stuff.
Like some PPs, I pour boiling water in the thermos and nuke the bejeezuz out of the food. I got sick of packing and washing multiple containers and lunch bags, so three weeks ago I sucked it up and bought the OmieBento lunch boxes at 40 bucks a pop. I love them and the kids love them, they are the perfect size and have all of the right compartments, including a removable thermos that is not too big (unlike the ones I was using previously).

My son sometimes say he sees the same kids eating PB&J every day. I told him, you are so luck your parents can afford and will take the time to make a variety of food for you each day. And we are lucky you don't complain about the food we make you. but, if you ever don't like the food, you should tell us or come up with some ideas on how you can make the food taste better.
My kid has eaten almost everything that has been listed above (yeah, i'm bragging), except it has to be gluten free and that part is tough. So, we would say you can't be too choosy because you already have a strict diet.
