Guess what? Your boss IS NOT a mean girl. If your boss was mean, she would make a big deal and throw you under the bus to her boss and/or HR. Instead it sounds like she gave YOU a chance to fix it.

Thank you boss. The real mean girls would have done it differently.

At my first job, I wore a dress to work and my (slightly older, female) coworker asked to speak with me and said 'I don't know if you realize it, but that dress is see through! I was mortified but so glad she told me. Luckily she had a long sweater in her desk and she lent t to me for the rest of that day.

The boss is clearly unethical if you have a hot bod. The non-anglo world is laughing at us. Sure, they have corruption, inefficiency, and a million more problems. But turn on telemundo news or take a look at any receptionist in Medellin and you will see a woman dressed inappropriately. And yes, she is much hotter than you and NOBODY is complaining about it.

Why don't young women realize they should wear dresses and skirts that hit at or immediately above the knee?

I worked in casino marketing straight out of college. We had the option of adhering to a strict dress code or being costumed in a suit each day. I had an impressive wardrobe of knee length sheath dresses and blazers all the way into my 30s from that job. Looking back, I'm SO glad for the guidance instead of having to guess what appropriate female business attire was. Lots of my peers were still shopping at stores like Forever21 and trying to make it professional.
