This whole thread and this post in particular is so funny I laughed until I cried, thank you OP and all the contributors!

Jimothy may strike many as a bizarre made up name, but it's been around for a few years. I personally know a Jimothy working at my local Safeway, great boy.
We named my first DD after both of her (then) recently passed grandmothers – Mary and Esther – Masther, or Mas for short. She has never dealt with any bullying and really loves her name. So: you do you, OP! But if you're only doing it to stick with the J names, don't.
That is god-awful. It's like someone with a speech impediment trying to say "Master"
OP, your child will not feel left out if his name doesn't start with a J. My DH's older brothers were David and Daniel, and DH's first name was alliterative with the dog's name. He really doesn't care.
Maybe one day Masther will marry that fine young man, Jimothy, and they will name their baby Masjim.
This PP must be fake, because that kid wouldn't make it through an hour of school without being labeled Masther-bater.Anonymous wrote:Makes me think of Jimothy Cricket. People will think your child's name is a typo, OP. I am sorry- I don't like to criticize people on DCUM but this name is just no good.

These babies will grow up and become autonomous adults who will not reside in their sibling orbit for all time. You do not need to coordinate your kids names into some cursor pattern. If you want to do it, fine, but please realize this is not necessary and will likely have no impact on your family dynamic or enjoyment of each other.
My brother and I are Matthew and Michelle. Our dog was Micki. It was fine as children and it's fine as adults. We had a couple of "I think this is your mail; no this is definitely YOUR mail" incidents, but it's no big deal.

I know it's a "combo" name, but IMO it has a nice ring to it! And he could use NN Jim if he's not happy with it.
Thoughts?

I guess I'm just caught up in the excitement of finally having a boy! A chubby little Jimothy would be so adorable, but I can understand why some of you are against it.
Thanks to those of you who offered actual input.
Thank you for the giggle OP.
