As I'm sitting here nervous as heck now I'm reading the post, and that last one actually made me cry. Believe it or not I volunteer for the Red Cross. I have a lot of friends, but unfortunately I have shut them all out recently because of my medical condition. I think it's better if I just stay away from here until I can get answers period maybe even after then comma because that was really harsh, and seriously I don't think that was necessary especially given why I came here for help.

If that were the case I would not have even asked the question on the internet. To those who would like an update I will give one. To those who do not I apologize in advance for giving an update.


You may be nice but you probably irritate the shit out of anyone you meet.

Please remember to ask for a CA-125 test. I would also add CEA. Don't take no for an answer. Ask to see the results.

Geez! She said her dad can bring her earlier than her DH. Cut her some slack, she's going to the hospital.

Keep in mind, PPs, that DCUM is a highly educated crowd with easy access to health care. Not everyone is so tuned in.
That's what makes it a great place for "diagnose me" threads.

OP, please be proactive in the ER - you need to do more than just answer their questions. You need to tell them everything, and stress the severity of your symptoms, and that you want to rule out cancer.

Best of luck to you - hopefully they'll get to the bottom of this quickly and get you the treatment you need to feel better.

Not all ERs are equal though. Hopefully they don't just send her home to follow up with her doc.

Let's stop with that. Some people are bricks and helpful in a medical situation and others are not. My DH is hopeless, my teenage DD is great. I'd rather have the latter with me if I had to go to the ER.

Op, serious question...Are you SN? Are you competent in making your own medical decisions? Something is very off about your posts and I'm wondering if you have the mental capacity to make informed medical decisions. Please get your dad on board to help you. It's nothing to be embarrassed about but it is far better to have someone who can make informed decisions take over your medical care than to be stubborn and die because you can't understand things and make decisions.

I urge compassion for OP. I know people who would act just like she is acting. They are not bad people, but they do tend to be either inflexible or very aversive to possible bad news.

OP, I am glad you are going to the ER. I see no problem in waiting a few hours to make sure you have a supportive person with you.

Please report back on what happens. Like many on this board, I like to hear the end of the story because it helps us with others who may face similar situations. It's great cheering when it's minor and it's helpful to the OPs if we end up having to encourage when it's not so minor.

ER nurse here. ED is Emergency Department. This isn't about running off to the hospital for a sneeze. This is serious. You could very well be dying and your attitude is certainly not helping. Do you know how many people I saw receive a terminal diagnose because they waited too damn long? I'm sorry you're not taking it seriously. I'm sorry you have the attitude you do. I sincerely hope you have something easily treatable instead of aggressive cancer. I am likely done with this post because of your attitude to people genuinely trying to give you advice. I wish you luck in getting healthier.

ED means Emergency Department.

OP, if you have learned anything from this thread, I hope it's that what you've been experiencing isn't "every sneeze" or anything run of the mill. Losing 20 pounds in a month is a huge deal, particularly in conjunction with the other symptoms you mentioned. I can see how your every day experience might normalize these symptoms to you, but they are NOT normal. I hope you are on the way to the ED now.
