I spent years sailing every other weekend in Annapolis during the late spring/early summer racing season. I can attest that there's plenty of preppiness there -- sailing clubs, boating, sailing attire, lots of drinking and parties related to sailing (regattas always had an after-party), the quaint shops and restaurants along the main drag, the history of Annapolis, etc. Sure it is touristy on summer weekends, and there are probably more powerboats than sailboats, but lots of beautiful, preppy places are touristy.

A lot of preps in and around Annapolis. Housing is quite expensive in the historic areas and waterfront neighborhoods. I think it’s silly to claim Annapolis isn’t preppy. It does have a preppy population with the kids at St. Mary’s, Severn and Key. Does it mean most people are preppy? No. Just like most of Baltimore isn’t preppy by any stretch of the imagination but Baltimore still has a strong preppy presence. Ditto for Annapolis.

I grew up in Baltimore and there are a TON of private schools here. If you want a Baltimore County preppy hangout, head to Tark's Grill. It's down the street from St. Paul's School and the parking lot is wall to wall fancy cars/SUVs.

Assume you mean Bedford OR Greenwich, since they're only about 10-12 miles apart. Very different towns but certainly preppy (though Greenwich might take itself too seriously these days to be in the Preppy Handbook top 10).
