He's not against the committee per se, but that Congress paid more attention to this than other more pressing issues. I'm betting he's fine with them getting rid of it.
I don't think that's the correct read. He teamed up with Paul Ryan to impose some discipline.
"As unfair as it is".... sounds to me like he thinks that committee should go, too, or at least be changed, probably to allow him to have conflicts of interests.
Eh, "as unfair as it is" is just some conciliatory language. Point is that he came out against it, that's what matters.

True. I guess only liberals care about ethics and honesty. Now we know, since the GOP stopped pretending
Their glorified Hillary candidate was their quintessential example of "ethics and honesty", wasn't she, op?
+1
The question that always goes conveniently unanswered.
She's as honest as the average politician. On the other hand, I don't think I've ever heard a single honest thing come out of Trump's mouth. Never mind all his questionable ethics around his businesses and "charity."
"Politicians are crooked! Run Gubmint like a BUSINESS!!" they howled.
Yet here it turns out the businessmen are even more crooked than the politicians.
