I tried to mitigate the possibility of this happening on our recent transatlantic flight by giving her a full dose of Benadryl - to no avail. I really don't know what I can do for people like you, OP. She is two and we fly. That's how it is right now.
Well, you kind of suck. Please stay home or figure out a way to keep your kid from crying.
OP here....I get that people sometimes NEED to take long flights with little kids (funeral, visit family overseas, etc) but why would you take a little kid who you KNOW is awful on flights on a transatlantic flight if it's just for a vacation? Not saying that's the case here, but it blows my mind people are so inconsiderate. Your two year old won't appreciate Europe or wherever anyways.
My toddler has been good on all but one flight thus far but even if he wasn't, we choose to take our child on flights because a few hours of potential stress and an not fun travel experience (that may or may not happen) is worth the days of vacation, the memories and photos we make and take and the fun the child has on the trip. They may not remember it but they still have fun. Unfortunately, just like with the metro, bus, Amtrak etc planes are open to everyone...including first class. If you don't like it fly private. No one is doing anything wrong. Remember you were a kid too and I'm sure you weren't perfect.

One time my DH and I flew with our 11 month old to Colorado. On the way back, the pilot while landing made the quick decision to not land due to the snow and we had to fly to Cleveland instead. I remember my DC was nursing and never made a peep the whole flight because of this. So, we got to the airport and it is really late ( 1 am?) and my DH is standing in line ( I'm waiting with baby on the side) and someone says, "hey look that baby has been so good" ( or something like that)
What I remember is EVERYONE in line turned to look at us and then they applauded us! I was slightly embarrassed because I was nursing ( discreetly at the time) and I didn't want people to look at me. I didn't think what I was doing was anything amazing!
Anyway, I will never forget the whole plane looking at us!

+1
Who the hell put someone like OP in charge of the airplane? I'm almost sorry that my kid is too old to scream and cry - if I knew OP was on the plane I'd find a way to piss her/him off. What an ass.

[b]i always 100% grab the seat getting up if you recline on me all the way. I'll get up 20-15 a flight and wake up when I notice youre sleeping. You want to be an asshole? 'E too!
The thing is, the seats were designed to be reclined but not designed to be grabbed to get up. U mad?

Anonymous wrote:flying is not going to be a pleasant experience for anyone anymore. if you fly, suck it up and deal with it. (and bring headphones). there are rude and annoying people on every flight, and the annoying people are not limited screaming children/babies.
