Confirmation bias and failure to see generational differences.

I'm a millennial and when I look around my office I realize it DOES matter.

Anyone pretending any state college is better than Cornell is an idiot or just in denial.

I went to Cornell - and my boss went to a third tier (if that) SLAC.

Because they couldn't land a big law, Wall Street, or prime K Street offer.

Are you positive that those are the only fools? I can think of one or two others...

That explains your idiotic post. You are forgiven.

Truly splitting hairs as both these state schools have some of the best departments and teachers in the country.

But I will admit that Ivy League on a resume helps for a variety of reasons.

Cal has strong world wide reputation and it is definitely above Michigan or lower Ivies.

What's "Cal?" I know what Columbia, Cornell and Brown are. Michigan... I assume Michigan State?

I don't know what Cal is either, UCLA, California State?

How about we see if your kid gets into any of these schools first.

For grad school, the difference between an ivy and a top state school varies. Big state schools, even those that are not considered "good," sometimes have a top program in a particular field.

For undergrad, an ivy is almost certainly better than Berkeley, UCLA, etc.

Given the choice, I'd go to an Ivy for undergrad and a big state school for graduate.
