Pinkard has taken over Henderson's seat on the MSDC board.

First act seems to have been to object to - and kill (with help from the other DCPS person on the board) - a UMd researcher's request for MSDC data about applications to dual language programs in DCPS and PCSs. Researcher wanted to explore the demand for these programs more deeply and see what was driving it.

DCPS said the research wasn't in DCPS' interest.

This example was provided so that posters who minimize the effects of poverty on student performance will stop using the ridiculous terms "high performing" and "low performing" when referring to schools in the District.

This example also applies to teachers. There are many excellent teachers EOTP; however, they too are labeled and evaluated out of the system if they serve in challenging school environments.

Check out https://empowerk12.wordpress.com . They recently posted a great article to support your thoughts on the effects of poverty in schools.

For the sake of the children, DC residents need to advocate for an outside search.

It was not a degree program. For years, DCPS principals have been going to the administrative summer institutes at Harvard. This practice goes back to the early 1990's, possibly before.

Any new developments on the Chancellor's Search? What internal candidates are they vetting?
